UAE, August 17, 2017
: Aldar Academies Al Yasmina Academy, one of the UAE's leading providers of private education, is celebrating another year of best-ever A-level results.

Among those completing their final year of study, a total of nine students achieved all A*/A grades - a 10 percent increase over 2016's top achievers total. Meanwhile, 68 percent of students achieved one or more A* to B grades at the Abu Dhabi-based educator, which is also celebrating a 100 percent pass-rate overall.

"We are overjoyed to be celebrating the incredible achievements of all our hard-working students for another year” commented Dr Tim Hughes, Al Yasmina Academy Principal. "It's a delight to see the great ambition and determination of our students, teachers and parents lead to such amazing success, and I'm very proud indeed of everyone's achievement” added Dr Hughes.

The academy's top nine students were: Yara Al Fawres (Jordan: 3A*, 2A), Lamya Al Yazdi (Canada: 3A*, 1A), Daniella Pretorius (S Africa: 2A*, 2A), Ossama Ismail (Egypt: 4A, 1B), Haya Al Ameri (UAE: 2A*, 1A), Carol Mokatash (Jordan: 2A*, 1A), Sara Rizal (Malaysia: 2A*, 1A), Nikita Amir (Pakistan: 1A*, 2A) and Isobel Barwick (UK: 1A*, 2A). They excelled in a range of subjects including Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Science and Art, and their outstanding performance has already attracted offers from some of the world's leading universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London, and University College London.

High achiever Daniella Pretorious has accepted her offer from Imperial College London, where she'll study biochemistry. "It feels fantastic. The A2 studies were more challenging then AS but I achieved what I set out to, which was earning a place at Imperial [College London]” commented Daniella.

"I genuinely believe I couldn't have done it without the care of my teachers – they've been amazing.” She added.

Lamya Al Yazdi now plans to study law at SOAS University of London. "One of our teachers always used to tell us: short term pain for long term gain. This year I was deputy head girl which came with more responsibility, but all that hard work has finally paid off” she commented. "I'm just glad I could give something back to the school through my results, because my teachers gave me all the guidance and support I ever needed” added Lamya.

Meanwhile, Carol Mokatash will now head to the University of Bath, England, to study architecture. "You work hard and wait a long time for this moment, but then, the pressure is finally released.” She commented.

"I've been really lucky because all of my teachers have been incredibly supportive. Since my first day at Al Yasmina Academy, I haven't met a single teacher who hasn't given everything they can to make sure students succeed.”

Overall, the academy's entire cohort of students performed strongly in the subjects of Mathematics, Further Mathematics and the Sciences, with the vast majority achieving an A*- C grade. 100 percent of students earned an A* to C grade in Further Mathematics, with 83 percent achieving A* to C in Biology and 74 percent reaching the grade in Mathematics.

"I'm thrilled to say that for another year, our students have excelled in their A-Level studies – particularly across the STEAM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics),” commented Nilay Ozral, Aldar Academies CEO. "We place a great emphasis on these subjects from the youngest age, so our students are equipped with the most in-demand skills as they step up to higher education. Now, they're moving on to some of the world's most prestigious universities with total confidence, backed up by the fine education they've received at Aldar Academies” added Mrs Ozral.
