His Excellency Mohammed Al Mubarak
Chairman


Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak is Chairman of Aldar Academies and has overseen the company from its beginnings. Mohammed is passionate about the contribution that education makes to society and takes very seriously the role that Aldar Academies plays in developing citizens of the future.

Mohamed is Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer of Aldar Properties PJSC. He is also Chairman of Image Nation, which seeks to develop the UAE film industry through the production of films that take Emirati and regional stories to a wider global audience, as well as funding international motion pictures.

Prior to joining Aldar, Mohamed worked in London for Barclays Capital. A native of Abu Dhabi, he is a graduate of Northeastern University (USA), with a double Major in Economics and Political Science.
Nilay Ozral
Chief Executive Officer


Nilay Ozral has been a Director of Aldar Real Estate Operations & Aldar Academies since 2010. In this role, she leads the operations of Aldar's educational division - Aldar Academies - a portfolio of six schools located across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi; in addition to overseeing a number of Aldar's major assets, including the seven hotels on Yas Island and Yas Links Golf Club.

Nilay has diverse background leading organizations across Middle East, Europe, Africa and Americas with extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, operations and financial analysis. She has been based in the UAE since 2008 and joined Aldar from Sorouh, where she was Strategic Planning Director. Previously, Nilay spent 18 years in industry, holding senior executive roles at Procter & Gamble, the multinational consumer goods manufacturer, and as Strategic Planning and Business Development Director of Bunge, the global agribusiness and food production company.

Nilay holds a masters degree in Chemical Engineering from McGill University and a degree from Middle East Technical University in Turkey. She has an MBA from University of Manchester Business School and the University of Texas at Austin and has completed a number of executive management courses at Washington University, USA, and ESADE in Spain.
Peter Carpenter
Director of Education


Peter Carpenter joined Aldar Academies in April 2015 as Director of Education.
Peter was formally a primary school teacher and Head teacher of two high performing schools in the north of England before his appointment as HMI (Her Majesty's Inspector of Schools) and Lead Inspector for Primary Education in Scotland.
From 2008 to 2013, Peter was Director of Inspection with the Government of Dubai and helped establish the school inspection systems across the Emirate. He led inspections and developed the inspection framework which was used to evaluate the performance of both public and private schools.
Between 2013 and 2015, Peter was Director of Education in The Western Isles of Scotland with responsibility for 30 schools, nurseries, colleges and children's services.
Peter has a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature and a Master's Degree in English. He qualified as a teacher with distinction in practice and holds a PGCE.
Michelle Forbes
Director of Special Projects


Michelle Forbes joined Aldar Academies in September 2011 as the Founding Principal of Al Mushrif School. She holds a BEd (Hons) Degree, a MEd (Hons) Degree and NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship).
A proven, outstanding school leader in both UK and international settings, Michelle also has a strong background in school development and previously worked as a National Consultant, School Improvement Partner, Local Leader of Education and Professional Partner.
Firmly committed to ensuring innovative, high quality educational experiences for students across Aldar Academies, Michelle delivers education project management for new schools and planned nurseries. She oversees Aldar Academies CPD across our schools and is responsible for strategic planning and implementation support for key organizational initiatives including innovation and education technology.
Shaughn Whyte
Director of Operations


Shaughn Whyte moved to UAE in June 2003 following 25 years managing operational and maintenance projects within the Oil & Gas, Leisure and Hotel Industry in Saudi Arabia, India, Spain and the United Kingdom. Shaughn holds a HND (Distinction) in Business and Leisure and an MBA diploma from the University of Leicester, UK.
Mr. Whyte joined Aldar Academies in April 2007 following 3 years at British School Al Khubairat, having successfully delivered their phase 3 secondary extension project.
Shaughn is currently leading the Operations & Development team and part of the delivery of the current portfolio of Academies School: The Pearl Primary School (2007), followed by Al Yasmina (2008), Al Muna Primary (2009), Al Bateen, Al Mushrif and Al Ain International School (2011). Additionally, he is managing the operations of Aldar Academies growth strategy and supporting site operations, developments and key initiatives.
Shabraiz Hassan
Director Finance


Shabraiz Hassan joined Aldar Group in January 2008 managing the Corporate Reporting Team together with Aldar Academies' Accounting and Finance functions.
With 16 years of professional experience in Finance and Accounting, Mr. Hassan started his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and worked at their various offices in Pakistan, Malaysia and UAE.
He is a fellow Chartered Certified Accountant from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
Ashley Dymoke
Director of Marketing & Communications


Ashley Dymoke is a senior marketeer with 20 years' experience in all aspects of marketing, branding, design and developing strategic marketing communications. He Joined Aldar in 2005 from London with 8 years' experience as a senior designer for Sony and Time Warner.

Since joining Aldar he has had held senior managerial positions in both marketing and branding and PR and played the lead role in the re-branding of Aldar, the result of which was the highly acclaimed and recognisable brand that stands today.

Mr Dymoke joined Aldar Academies in 2013 and is currently responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive annual marketing, communications and public relations strategy and enhancing Aldar Academies image and position within the marketplace.

Mr Dymoke holds a BA (HONS) Degree in Communication and Design from Middlesex University in London.
Athra Abdul Majeed
Director of Human Resources and Administration


Athra Abdul Majeed has over 20 years of experience across a wide range of administration, management and HR, in both the Public and Private sectors in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Prior to joining Aldar Academies, Athra A. Majeed worked as the Human Capital Advisor for Tecom Investments Group, and Training and Performance Management Manager at Baynounah Media Group. She holds a Master's Degree in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria and Robert Kennedy College, and a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management from ST. Illinois University, USA.
